Eats:
-
Casa De Los Platos
One of Damien and Jacq’s favorite spots to eat. Casa De Los Platos is in the Providencia area, about a 20 minute drive from the hotel. Their favorite things to order are the guacamole, flautas, tacos de chicharron de ribeye, and the mole. they also have an amazing bottomless brunch on the weekends! Truly a gem in Guadalajara.
-
Campomar
Indulging in mariscos (mexican seafood) is a must in Jalisco. Campomar is walking distance from the hotel and it’s worth every penny. It’s a restaurant meant for sharing, so we’d recommend coming with friends and/or family. Although everything on their menu is great, we absolutely love the aguachiles, ceviche, or any of the cameron options they have.
-
Piggy Back
Guadalajara is known for their famous Chilaquiles, and I will agree - they will be delicious ANYWHERE you will find them. If you are on the Col Americana area, this is another one of our go-to places for chilaquiles. it’s a cute cafe with also amazing coffee. Our favorite chilaquiles have been the oaxaquenos and carne en su jugo. also, don’t skip out on the cafe de olla!
-
Casa Dolores
Casa Dolores is a chain in Guadalajara, you are probably always about 20 minutes in proximity to this restaurant with its more popular locations being in el centro and col americana. While all of the food is great, we really enjoyed the mole flautas, molcajetes, and any of their tacos!
-
Rio Viejo
Rio Viejo is conveniently located in the shopping center of the hotels and with another location in col americana. Damien and Jacq stumbled upon this restaurant when looking for a rehearsal dinner location, and it did not disappoint. We tried the chicharron de ribeye con guacamole, chicken mole, y fideo seco - all were amazing. They also have so many staple traditional dishes and nice cuts of meat.
-
Birria Tacos
One of the many things Guadalajara is also known for is their Birria tacos. They will be amazing anywhere you find them! If you are in the Tlaquepaque area or near the airport, be sure to check out birria chololo. A staple mom & pop restaurant serving the best birria.
