Jacqueline and Damien met at the University of Texas; however, their love story didn’t begin until a couple of years after they graduated. You know the saying “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”? Well, let’s just say their beginning started with many missed shots. 

Jacq had just moved to Arkansas for a job in the Fall of 2019, and she frequently went to visit her friends in Dallas. It all started with a conversation with Jacq that immediately grabbed Damien’s attention. They stayed up talking for a couple of hours after a night out with friends. Jacq made a trip back to Dallas again in February 2020, and this is where things got interesting. 

They were having a fun night out for a friend’s birthday, and Damien had the liquid courage to give Jacq a kiss. Jacq backed away, completely caught off guard. Damien immediately apologized and realized he was oddly only more attracted to her.

Damien still remained interested and continued to “slide in the DMs” (in a non-creepy way).

He consistently asked questions about her life, asked for playlists, and always showed an interest. Not sure if he was bored because this was also in the midst of COVID-19.

They later met at a friend’s house in July 2020, and something completely switched. Jacq admired Damien’s constant presence in her life and found herself super drawn to him - maybe it was his fresh fade? Who knows. Later that night, she then made the (second) first move and kissed Damien.

Since we all know how great the first time went. 

Jacq and Damien dated for about 6 months, trying to figure out if a relationship made sense since they were still long distance. After driving 9 hours to be with Jacq on her 25th birthday in January 2021, they both knew it was worth taking the risk. 

Jacq moved to New York City to chase her dreams in May 2021. Although, it was very difficult, they continued to be long distance for the first two years. Damien eventually moved to NYC to live with Jacq in June 2023 to take the next step of their relationship.

While learning the dynamics of living together, they explored a new city and traveled the world through food. Damien was anticipating to propose that next year. 

Damien planned the ultimate surprise and proposed to Jacqueline on their European vacation in May 2024. They celebrated with their beloved families in the French Riviera, and then by themselves in Croatia and Italy as a newly engaged couple. 

Damien and Jacqueline are beyond excited to celebrate their love with their closest families and friends.
